Prompts
- STAYING POWER - Go down to the bunker, they said. You can get yourself amazing powers from the vending machine, they said. Well, you've done that, and you've made your choice, but one thing nobody told you was that unless it's a power you're familiar with, you might be on a teensy bit of a learning curve when it comes to keeping it under control. You have a week to figure it out without killing anyone; have fun!
- FORGIVE AND... - You poor thing, you've gotten into some dust moths. Not that you can remember that, because depending on how big that swarm was and how quickly you got out of it, you might not remember much at all. Better hope somebody's got some Forget Me Nots on hand.
- HIT & RUN - Life in the village can be pretty sleepy... until suddenly, it's not. Were you being a troublemaker? Were you disturbing the local wildlife? Because it's now disturbing you, chasing you down the street in front of everyone. Maybe it's a herd of chupapaca or a swarm of fireflies. Or maybe you went old school and it's just a really pissed off badger. Godspeed and good luck.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.
Texts
All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.
- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- Display names may be changed by characters on the fly, but anyone can tap to see someone's real full name
Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.
Hela | MCU
Bad enough that she should find her way here, waking in a fountain of all places. Drowning when she'd died burning. For a moment she'd thought, perhaps, that she'd finally earned her place in Valhalla- attempting to slay a fire giant had to count for something. Apparently the Norns had something else in mind- or this is simply a continuation of her poor fortune. A village full of neither warriors nor worthy, scraping past for their soft comforts in their hovels, huddling together in the cold. But to endure waking here, endure the loss of her powers- and now the loss of her memory?
When she can recall who and what she is? She'll be cross. For now she wanders in a vague daze, combing dark, tangled hair out of her face, trying to find her way to anything that is even the slightest bit familiar. New as she is to the village? Nothing is. "Pardon me-"
It pays to be polite. She thinks. She honestly can't recall. "Do you know...me? I feel as though someone should."
HIT & RUN
"Little bastards-" Hunting isn't supposed to be this complicated. You stalk your prey, you attack, you take home the spoils. Centuries before her imprisonment she'd spent hunting alongside Fenris. But this? A herd of minuscule deer that not only dare to dart around the thrust of her spear, but to also swarm like so many locusts and chase her from the woods? Normally she'd stand her ground but-
Discretion is the better part of valor and she is...weak. Mortal. It burns on so many levels, but she flees none the less, spear in hand, sprinting for the first secure position on the high ground she can find. "Make way!"
WILDCARD
Surprise me!
TEXT UN: Hel's General
Do we truly have no army? No warriors of note?

Just that most of us are retired and the only things to fight here are tiny god damn deer
Why, you planning on invading the squirrels?

Hit & Run
Several crossbow bolts beat Wynonna to the deer as she launches herself from the tree. She skips that 3-point Superhero Landing in favour of rolling into the fall to bleed off the inertia, and trampling a couple deer in the process.
Up close, the crossbow is less accurate and less reliable for targets this small. A hiking boot is much, much more effective. The sounds they make are close enough to the baby deer sounds she's used to from home to almost feel bad about it.
"I really hated Bambi anyway."
no subject
She can respect a skilled archer, and someone that's lept into the fray? All the more so. "I haven't seen deer half so vicious as this before."
Normally they were demure, skittish things.
no subject
"You wanna help me pack these up? They're small but the meat's rich," she's stuffing dead vampire deer into a cloth sack that is only a little bloodstained so far while she says this.
no subject
Fragile.
It's exhausting on so many levels.
Hit and Run
It's a pretty good place all in all.
Right until some crazed lady with a spear comes running at him ruining that perfect image of no one trying to kill him.
Leaping to his feet, he grabs the chair, spinning it around to hold it in front of him like a lion tamer's shield.
"Now hold up there. I don't know what you think I did, but I didn't." Because defending himself from whatever it is he quite possibly did is important.
no subject
Or.
Take her hand and climb to safety.
no subject
Glancing back, new enough not to be sure why they're fearing them, but also new enough to know his luck is that they drink blood or something.
"Well, shit." He reaches up, taking her hand and planting his boot against the side of the building to use the two to scramble up the building. "What are those things?"
no subject
Not one she'd been hunting with, but a hound none the less. Retribution would be hers...once she' certain it won't get her killed.
no subject
"People around here are a bit odd about animals." And he's sticking to that theory.
"So, uhmmm... what're we gonna do about them from up here?"

Forgive and Forget
"You-- don't you recognise me?" he asks, allowing a hint of hurt to filter into his voice, immediately playing the first role that pops into his mind. You can take magic from the magic, but a trickster must be deader than dead to be relieved entirely of his tricks.
"Your own son?" He looks away for a moment, the very image of hurt. "Mother, what happened?"
No doubt he will pay for this later, but when has that ever stopped him?
no subject
Son? Son. Dark hair, fair skin, lean frame, It could fit? It might fit.
What reason would she have to doubt save a vague sense she wouldn't make for a comforting mother? "I- I don't know. I was in the forest for...some reason. I can't recall."
Hunting? Gathering? There'd been a spear she'd used for a walking stick until she lost interest in holding onto it.
no subject
"You were looking for something, you said. We were supposed to meet for dinner when you returned, remember? I'm... sorry it's not ready, I thought I had a little more time..."
