[Guidebook] Locations of Note
- This list is not exhaustive. Please consult the settings page and maps therein for a complete list of buildings and landmarks.
- All images and video on this page are intended strictly for inspiration and general reference purposes. They're just to give players a visual place to start and shouldn't necessarily be considered strict gospel.
Located southeast of the South village. A tiny waterfell and moderate-sized pool fed by an underground hot spring. Good for bathing or lounging, but not large enough for much in the way of swimming. The plant growth surrounding the pool is extremely lush. The water has healing properties, as detailed in the link to the right.
Located in the center of both South and North villages. 2 stories, in the craftsman style. The image used for the thumbnail is the Gamble House.
NOTABLE FEATURES:
- Small foyer
- Large front room with multiple dining tables/chairs, large fireplace and small bar with stools
- NOTE: Unless someone has been gifted or distilled their own booze and put it there, the bar is empty
- Large kitchen behind the front room
- Only one bathroom, upstairs
- All bedrooms are upstairs
- The first bedroom at the top of the stairs has been converted into a storeroom for all extra or abandoned supplies
- The journal housing the village census lives in the front room, as does thorough documentation of all village events.
Two-story upshot mills located on the rivers adjacent to the South and North villages.
NOTABLE FEATURES:
- Has additional spacious attic-type space similar to this
- Two stubby "wings" on either side for storage
Small grove of Japanese peach (momo) trees, located to the immediate northwest of the North village. The fruit from the trees can improve health; see the link to the right for more info.
To the southwest of the South and North villages. Hand-build treehouse-style village on a scale that implies more advanced technology than the current villagers have at their disposal. It's very clear no one has lived there for many years, and it is not habitable in its current deteriorated state.
Located in the South Village, across from the Town Hall. The building is craftsman style like the village bungalows, a single room with desks and chairs. The large standing blackboard was moved to the South Village inn front room, where it is primarily used to post notices.
As of mid-September 2018, the schoolhouse has been repaired after it sustained damage during a previous event. The walls are also now lined top to bottom with shelves filled with every imaginable non-fiction guide, courtesy of the Observers. Other literature may also be donated by characters.
Located on the northeastern coast. Consists of multiple full-sized sailing ships caught on the rocky beach and cliffs and converted into living quarters.
NOTABLE FEATURES:
- Rundown, with areas that are deteriorated to the point of being dangerous
- The big cat is known to roam close by
Two-story meeting space in both South and North villages. Ultilitarian, but still in the craftsman style.
NOTABLE FEATURES:
- Large main room on bottom floor with benches and chairs for meetings
- Bathroom on the bottom floor
- Smaller meeting rooms and offices on both floors
- The fields are located behind the 6I town hall, and the workers use it as a home base and a place to take breaks
- There is a large barrel of runoff and graywater behind the 6I town hall used for watering crops; this is not potable
Additional locations of note
- BUTCHER'S - The community ash hopper is located behind the main building, and fat is rendered in a back shed. (A very stinky process.) Villagers often leave free soap for personal bathing, clothes washing and house cleaning on the counter in the main building.
- FIELDS, FRUIT GROVES & APIARY - Located behind the South Village town hall
- FOUNTAIN PARK - Identical in South and North Villages. New arrivals come through the fountain in the South Village park; the North Village fountain is cracked and dry
- POLICE STATION & JAIL - South Village version converted into pens for livestock in the winter
- STOREHOUSE - Crop and firewood storeage
- FEVER SNAKE ISLAND - Located southeast of the villages, at the convergence of several rivers. The standing water in the ruins on this island contain a deadly strain of bacteria that causes a typhoid-like illness that may only be cured by fever snake venom.
