Prompts
- SNOW BLIND - It's snowing, a lot, and pristine landscape though it might create, it also brings plenty of problems, especially when you live in an Edwardian-style village with a serious lack of snow shovels. It's currently blizzard conditions and visibility is nil — Maybe you gave in and ducked into the nearest house for temporary shelter, and discover someone else had the same idea (or just lives there, oops). Maybe you're stubborn enough to still be out in it, struggling against the wind and snow. Or maybe you've tromped into the South Village Inn like a human popsicle, and are just hoping you don't lose any fingers before you make it to the fireplace.
- JUMPED-UP - Winter's here, which means it's the perfect time for an expedition to warmer, southern climes. You've joined a group following the river all the way down to the far southern beach, for fun and for science. On this latest break in your journey, you've spotted a large, jewel-colored feather and picked it up, maybe as a specimen to bring back or just a feather for your cap. Turns out it's an archaeopteryx feather, and you're now, well... let's call it a little gravity-challenged. Not a bad benefit once you figure out how to control it.
- COLD CALL - The snow has slacked off, leaving behind a winter wonderland. Sure, there's plenty to do, but after being cooped up inside for days, most people won't blame you for a morale-booster — That is, unless your way of starting a snowball fight is to pop up and throw them at unsuspecting passers-by. Making a snow man or snow angels might come with a little less retribution, but you do you.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

[Her sentences are stronger now but she feels tired and wants nothing more to sleep.]
It is too cold. [Terra can use many forms of magic but her most talented skills were in fire. She's never felt the cold before and has never had to be conscious of the changing seasons.] I am sleepy.
no subject
[If there was ever a time for fire materia or that weird magic he had earlier, this was it. But he finally got to the shore, and there, further along, a splash of green. Panting he ran the rest of the way and skidded to his knees at her side, dropping a pair of blankets over her. Then he pulled the woman up into his arms, rubbing at her arms through the blankets.]
Terra. Hello Terra, I'm here. Stay with me. There are buildings nearby. Let me... Let me help you get there, okay? We'll get you warm.
no subject
You're... [Brilliant and inhuman azure blue eyes look up at him as rubs at her arms through the blankets.] -the voice.
You found me.
[The warmth stung as nerves awoke and screamed in pain but Terra doesn't cry out. She's used to pain, used to numbness and she pushes past it to try and stand. It's difficult and she falls into Reeve in the process.] I am so tired. [She closes her eyes and leans against him.]
no subject
[Bad. Very bad. This was quite not good, the way she was. He grabbed his third blanket and draped it over her before tucking an arm under her knees and shoulders. It takes a bit, but he stands with the young woman in his arms. No, he won't let her walk.]
There's a few nearby houses. We're going to find one with heat.
no subject
[She exhales the word and relaxes in his arms. This isn't the first time that Terra's had to be found but she's never felt cold like this and she doesn't understand the dangers.]
I can walk... [Maybe. She doesn't know but she can see the strain in Reeve's features and she feels bad.]
no subject
[He won't let her. He's not the strongest but he holds her as close as he can to try and give her some of his warmth. Ignore the strain. This is more important. Jsut carries her toward the nearest house, which is some way away. He's seen people in it before. Which means it should be warm.]
no subject
She doesn't close her eyes but she remains silent and listens to the steady ragged breaths of her savior.]
no subject
Stand here for just a moment while I get the door.
[Once he's got her leaning against the frame of the door, he gets it pushed open and helps guide her in. Good news, the heat is on. Bad news means someone else is living there. Oh well, Reeve will figure out a way to explain it.]
no subject
Ah. [Terra's voice is high pitched and surprised as her nerves awaken feeling the full intensity of the ordeal. She tries to move her fingers and toes, thinking that the motion might chase away the painful chill that have rooted into her bones.] Where is this?
[She doesn't realize that someone might be living here as she takes the nearest seat and curls into a ball. The blankets are disorganized but Terra makes sure to tuck every inch of herself beneath the warm fabric.]
no subject
[He moves himself to sit in a nearby chair, watching her with concern.]
Do you remember how you got so close to the river?
no subject
I was searching for something.
[Terra's lips press into a frown.] I thought I would be able to find it but... it is not here. The feeling is gone and- [She uncurls an inch and stares at her hand.] My fire is gone.
I have no more magic.
[This feels unthinkable to Terra and it's clear that she's having trouble processing this new development.]
no subject
[Well... that Reeve can understand. He looks down at his own hands. Well, his wrists specifically. He had no access to his magic either, he could understand the feelign of loss, and he knew there were those who were even more tied to it than he had been.]
Here that is something we... lack. I am sorry that it was taken from you, Terra.
no subject
I am magic.
I do not know how I am still here without it.
[Only half of her is human, it doesn't make any sense.]
no subject
[Of course Reeve is saying that without understanding just how accurate her statement is. To him magic is used. Sure, it's a part of you, but you aren't created through it, aren't tied to it the way Terra is.]
In the end I guess this place puts us on equal footing. As humans. If you're human that is. I don't wish to assume. I assumed one man wasn't because he was blue and had a tail and... I was wrong.
no subject
I am not human.
[It isn't something she likes talking about nor it is a fact that she should trust with a stranger but it doesn't matter if her magic is truly gone. It'd been a surprise to learn of her Esper half and she'd been struggling with her identity when she'd arrived in the village.]
no subject
Well, then. I am sorry that you were brought down to this level. Humans really aren't all that nice to be.
[Focus on her status, right.]
Show me your fingers and wiggle them please.
no subject
She doesn't close her eyes but she remains silent and listens to the steady ragged breaths of her savior.]
