Prompts

  1. SNOW BLIND - It's snowing, a lot, and pristine landscape though it might create, it also brings plenty of problems, especially when you live in an Edwardian-style village with a serious lack of snow shovels. It's currently blizzard conditions and visibility is nil — Maybe you gave in and ducked into the nearest house for temporary shelter, and discover someone else had the same idea (or just lives there, oops). Maybe you're stubborn enough to still be out in it, struggling against the wind and snow. Or maybe you've tromped into the South Village Inn like a human popsicle, and are just hoping you don't lose any fingers before you make it to the fireplace.

  2. JUMPED-UP - Winter's here, which means it's the perfect time for an expedition to warmer, southern climes. You've joined a group following the river all the way down to the far southern beach, for fun and for science. On this latest break in your journey, you've spotted a large, jewel-colored feather and picked it up, maybe as a specimen to bring back or just a feather for your cap. Turns out it's an archaeopteryx feather, and you're now, well... let's call it a little gravity-challenged. Not a bad benefit once you figure out how to control it.

  3. COLD CALL - The snow has slacked off, leaving behind a winter wonderland. Sure, there's plenty to do, but after being cooped up inside for days, most people won't blame you for a morale-booster — That is, unless your way of starting a snowball fight is to pop up and throw them at unsuspecting passers-by. Making a snow man or snow angels might come with a little less retribution, but you do you.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

"One kiss is a commitment to you?" Raleigh can tell it's a kid for sure now, despite the height. He's about 6' himself, built broad and strong like he works for it, and is dressed almost identically, down to the socks on his hands plus a spare shirt over his head and neck because he doesn't have any proper winter gear yet.

Then there's a snowball being lobbed at him, that Raleigh moves to sidestep but doesn't have to -- it falls short, but his next one won't. Hope Kon is dodgy! It's coming in fast.

"It is less a commitment, more a stepping stone on the way to commitment. A gateway commitment, if you will." Definitely a kid, at around about that age where dating is suddenly immensely interesting. Kon has definitely speculated at length over the importance of various kisses in his life.

Kon vaguely registers Raleigh's height and built, momentarily reminded of Guardian, but it's his clothing that Kon actually notices. "Cool threads. You pick them yourself?" He's pretty sure the answer is no, which would imply that Raleigh, like him--

The snowball does indeed come in fast, and Kon, more busy speculating on whether or not the clothes means that Raleigh is an import model like himself, does not react fast enough to dodge. He yelps, stepping backwards and ends up on his butt in the snow.

"... I guess that makes us even."

"A gateway commitment." Raleigh huffs, amused despite his overall mood here -- okay, kid. Sure. He's about to reply to the comment about his clothes when Kon tries to dodge the snowball again and winds up sitting in a snowdrift. He smirks, jogging over to offer Kon a hand up.

"We're even, and no I didn't pick them. But you knew that already... when did you get here?"
