2. It cannot be the character's arrival into the game.
3. Please only test new characters who do not have a version in the game. Our cast list is here.

→ TDM threads cannot be used to meet AC, but if the character is accepted into the game and both players agree, you may keep the CR.

Prompts

  1. SNOW BLIND - It's snowing, a lot, and pristine landscape though it might create, it also brings plenty of problems, especially when you live in an Edwardian-style village with a serious lack of snow shovels. It's currently blizzard conditions and visibility is nil — Maybe you gave in and ducked into the nearest house for temporary shelter, and discover someone else had the same idea (or just lives there, oops). Maybe you're stubborn enough to still be out in it, struggling against the wind and snow. Or maybe you've tromped into the South Village Inn like a human popsicle, and are just hoping you don't lose any fingers before you make it to the fireplace.

  2. JUMPED-UP - Winter's here, which means it's the perfect time for an expedition to warmer, southern climes. You've joined a group following the river all the way down to the far southern beach, for fun and for science. On this latest break in your journey, you've spotted a large, jewel-colored feather and picked it up, maybe as a specimen to bring back or just a feather for your cap. Turns out it's an archaeopteryx feather, and you're now, well... let's call it a little gravity-challenged. Not a bad benefit once you figure out how to control it.

  3. COLD CALL - The snow has slacked off, leaving behind a winter wonderland. Sure, there's plenty to do, but after being cooped up inside for days, most people won't blame you for a morale-booster — That is, unless your way of starting a snowball fight is to pop up and throw them at unsuspecting passers-by. Making a snow man or snow angels might come with a little less retribution, but you do you.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

"This isn't my residence, so no need to rush yourself. I'm an architect and I'm cataloging interiors here to better understand the structures," Reeve explained as he moved to find a door to a bedroom. He does manage to locate one and hums. No blanket.

"Let's see, sitting on the mattress would be sufficient to let you rest without sitting on the ground. And there's a chance someone put wood by the heater downstairs. Shall I check?"

A part of Aqua relaxes at that admission. She hadn't wanted to be intrusive and had worried that she had pushed herself into someone's residence. If they're both guests here, that's better than the alternative.

"I'll be okay in a couple of minutes." Whether or not she really would be is irrelevant at this point. "I'll go with you. I'll keep warm better if I keep moving."

That and the more she finds out from him, the better she'll feel about what she knows. She's got the basics from her arrival, but getting to know people never hurts in the long run.

"Do people leave wood in abandoned houses? Or do you think this one has an occupant?"

"I was told growing up that the worst idea in a blizzard was to abandon certain shelter for hopes of superior shelter. You could die out there. Forgive me if I don't think you should head out," Reeve said, but if she's willing to join him to check, he'll do it.

With a gesture he beckons her to join him, he knows he saw the stairs back in the kitchen area.

"There are many that are empty, this one definitely is. There are, though, people who believe that as a precaution for situations like this, to leave a bit of wood. I don't know if they've gotten to this one."

He's probably right. Admittedly, Aqua doesn't have a lot of experience with snowstorms. Or at least not ones like this. But she would still rather be active than not and she still isn't used to being the one needing help. It might take her some time to accept that she needs it.

For now, she follows him through the house, taking note of what can be seen. This house doesn't look any more stocked than the others she has seen so far. "That's kind of them. I guess we could see what this house does have. Have people thought about stocking the houses with blankets to help keep the warmth in?"

She probably hasn't been paying as much attention as she should to everything, but to be fair, she's still relatively new. Getting used to the idea of not being in the Realm of Darkness is still higher on the list.

"Many of the houses are already partially stocked for residents. Including with blankets. We will lift those from the beds here once we've managed to check the heater," Reeve offered as he opens the basement door and starts down. Then he pauses on a step.

"These are unfinished basements. Small, dirt floors and the like. You may not wish to come down."

He wants to give her that option.
