Prompts
- SNOW BLIND - It's snowing, a lot, and pristine landscape though it might create, it also brings plenty of problems, especially when you live in an Edwardian-style village with a serious lack of snow shovels. It's currently blizzard conditions and visibility is nil — Maybe you gave in and ducked into the nearest house for temporary shelter, and discover someone else had the same idea (or just lives there, oops). Maybe you're stubborn enough to still be out in it, struggling against the wind and snow. Or maybe you've tromped into the South Village Inn like a human popsicle, and are just hoping you don't lose any fingers before you make it to the fireplace.
- JUMPED-UP - Winter's here, which means it's the perfect time for an expedition to warmer, southern climes. You've joined a group following the river all the way down to the far southern beach, for fun and for science. On this latest break in your journey, you've spotted a large, jewel-colored feather and picked it up, maybe as a specimen to bring back or just a feather for your cap. Turns out it's an archaeopteryx feather, and you're now, well... let's call it a little gravity-challenged. Not a bad benefit once you figure out how to control it.
- COLD CALL - The snow has slacked off, leaving behind a winter wonderland. Sure, there's plenty to do, but after being cooped up inside for days, most people won't blame you for a morale-booster — That is, unless your way of starting a snowball fight is to pop up and throw them at unsuspecting passers-by. Making a snow man or snow angels might come with a little less retribution, but you do you.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

Rita Du Clark | iZombie
Rita absolutely walked into the closest house. Your house. And now she's in your kitchen, looking around as she stands just inside it, arms crossed and still shivering. There's snow and ice in her red (red!!! god she loves being cured) hair, and her nose and cheeks are pink.
"You have coffee, right? Or tea?"
She'll take hot porridge at this point, but she won't ever ask for it. Gross.

i have a great idea to get warmed up >;)
snow blind
He's actually pouring coffee for himself when Rita busts in, but doesn't startle or spill it, just calmly looks up at the woman standing in his doorway shivering. Oh, what an opportunity, were he home. Blaine smiles at her anyway, because he needs to make friends here so why not start with someone attractive?
"You're just in time, actually. Close that door and take a seat. Oh, do try and knock the snow off, will you?"
no subject
He's kind of hot, after all - or he would be if he weren't a living (arguably), breathing (very slowly) STD. Who'd he piss off anyway that waking up in the fountain didn't cure him? Whatever, not her problem.
She shuts the door as asked, brushing the snow out of her hair, dusting it off her sleeves and shoulders. "Ugh." Dismissive, as she shakes snowmelt off her hands. "Glad I wound up here, at least." She flashes him a smile, not quite dark but definitely not bright either. About neutral, if a little playful. "What's your name, my generous host?"
no subject
Either way, he's pouring another coffee. There's just enough for two.
"Always willing to take in a lovely lady before she turns into a popsicle. My name's Blaine, and yours?" He walks the mugs over to his tiny table and sets them down. "It's a far cry from my Jura Impressa, but we make do. Please."
Look, he'll even pull out her seat. He's a perfect gentleman.
no subject
Of all the things that can be said of Rita, "she's cold" isn't one of them. Vaughn is cold, needlessly cruel. Rita prefers making choices whose outcomes she can enjoy.
She doesn't trust him farther than she can throw him, but she appreciates his manners. A graceful nod and a few smooth steps and she takes the seat, not yet ready to shrug out of her coat.
"Rita." She picks up the mug, inhaling the steam rising from it. "It'll do. Beggars can't be choosers, right?"
Especially not when they're... who really knows where.
"So. Blaine. Tell me - who exactly do I have the honor of drinking coffee with?"
