Test Drive
→ Holds and applications are always open. Holds are required for all applications.

→ Choose one of the scenarios below or make up your own. Feel free to try multiple scenarios.

→ Write LOGS or NETWORK prompts, or both.

THERE ARE ONLY THREE RULES FOR THE TDM:
1. It has to take place in the 6I universe.
2. It cannot be the character's arrival into the game.
3. Please only test new characters who do not have a version in the game. Our cast list is here.

→ TDM threads cannot be used to meet AC, but if the character is accepted into the game and both players agree, you may keep the CR.

Character want ads are here.

Prompts

  1. SNOW BLIND - It's snowing, a lot, and pristine landscape though it might create, it also brings plenty of problems, especially when you live in an Edwardian-style village with a serious lack of snow shovels. It's currently blizzard conditions and visibility is nil — Maybe you gave in and ducked into the nearest house for temporary shelter, and discover someone else had the same idea (or just lives there, oops). Maybe you're stubborn enough to still be out in it, struggling against the wind and snow. Or maybe you've tromped into the South Village Inn like a human popsicle, and are just hoping you don't lose any fingers before you make it to the fireplace.

  2. JUMPED-UP - Winter's here, which means it's the perfect time for an expedition to warmer, southern climes. You've joined a group following the river all the way down to the far southern beach, for fun and for science. On this latest break in your journey, you've spotted a large, jewel-colored feather and picked it up, maybe as a specimen to bring back or just a feather for your cap. Turns out it's an archaeopteryx feather, and you're now, well... let's call it a little gravity-challenged. Not a bad benefit once you figure out how to control it.

  3. COLD CALL - The snow has slacked off, leaving behind a winter wonderland. Sure, there's plenty to do, but after being cooped up inside for days, most people won't blame you for a morale-booster — That is, unless your way of starting a snowball fight is to pop up and throw them at unsuspecting passers-by. Making a snow man or snow angels might come with a little less retribution, but you do you.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

Network

All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text and video messages to other villagers.

- Text and/or video, any length

Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.

There's no quick answer to that one, both are good and valid choices. I love a good musical as much as I love a trashy pop song. They're like m&ma, you can't have just one!

Hmmmm, man, so many choices--okay. Okay, let's split the difference with some Disney--

[And so he does, because who doesn't love the Little Mermaid, okay?]
bludhavenknight: ([D] Alfred is my mom)

[personal profile] bludhavenknight 2018-12-01 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
[But the end of it he's grinning and clapping, because that really is the best. You can't go wrong with the Little Mermaid! Or anything Disney.]

Bravo! Bravo! You really gave it your all, see, this is what I needed, a little bit more Disney in my life. [Gives him one of those patented Grayson smiles.] You could have busted out the Swahili and gone with the Lion King but you went with a true classic, and that's really the best!

No, no I totally couldn't.

[He's protesting, but he's grinning back at Dick anyway, ducking his head.]

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to start singing the Circle of Life without an actual cat to hold up. The right scene is super important. At least I know I've got some pretty killer Ariel bangs.

[Here he makes a point of flipping his hair out of his face, maybe making just a little show of it.]

Did it help?

It could be any animal though, as long as it's small and fluffy. Kind of makes me want to find a cat to do this with now, though...

[Ha! He did the hair flip! That makes Dick laugh, it's great, this is the best, why did he not post to the network about this problem sooner?]

It did help! I'm not hearing the old song at all anymore! [Grins.] I'm Dick, by the way. Dick Grayson. Nice to meet you.

[And ready for the laughter after his name in 3...2...1...]

I mean, there's definitely cats. I can't promise any of them are gonna enjoy the experience, but hey, live your dreams, right?

[The laugh makes him grin, and honestly network karaoke is a great idea, but Dick may be surprised to find that that grin does not in fact grow at the mention of his name, nor is there any sign of laughter. What? He takes names and teasing seriously. So would you if you were a gay hero who'd once gone by the unfortunate codename of 'Asgardian.']

Nice to meet you too, Dick. I'm Billy. Billy Kaplan. Glad I could help with your earworm. Although, not gonna lie, I'm just gonna be singing Disney songs all day now while I work, so if anyone complains I'm just gonna tell them it was your fault.

There has never been a single cat out there that loved being sung to and raised into the air. They probably hate every single one of us who's done it.

[Network karaoke is a great idea, but the fact that someone isn't laughing about his name? Makes his own grin grow. There's a first for everything, apparently! Of course he also needs to hear that story now, because he can commiserate with all superhero things. Especially superhero teenage things.]

I owe you one for this, Billy. [Makes a face, though, and he laughs again.] Okay, okay, I'll take all the blame for this. But even with that, I still owe you one! Even if it means I'll be singing Disney for a week.

[There's an awful lot of them in this village, after all. Teen heroes. Maybe they should form some kind of support group. He laughs at the face Dick makes, though, and shakes his head.]

No, it's fine. First one's on me. Although, if you're ever up for a duet sometime...

[What's the harm in asking? It'll be good to make a new friend who appreciates musicals, instead of groaning through his latest rendition of Anything Goes like Tommy did the last time.]

[That's how the Titans started out, you know, kind of. A sort of support group slash actually helping people. Dick is all for that, it helps keep his mind off of things that he wouldn't like.]

You'd want to do a duet with me? [That grin turns to a beaming smile, because ahhhh someone would want to duet with him?] I am so there. I love music, I would be down for a duet at any time. Rain or shine! Or in this case snow.
