Prompts
- STAYING POWER - Go down to the bunker, they said. You can get yourself amazing powers from the vending machine, they said. Well, you've done that, and you've made your choice, but one thing nobody told you was that unless it's a power you're familiar with, you might be on a teensy bit of a learning curve when it comes to keeping it under control. You have a week to figure it out without killing anyone; have fun!
- FORGIVE AND... - You poor thing, you've gotten into some dust moths. Not that you can remember that, because depending on how big that swarm was and how quickly you got out of it, you might not remember much at all. Better hope somebody's got some Forget Me Nots on hand.
- HIT & RUN - Life in the village can be pretty sleepy... until suddenly, it's not. Were you being a troublemaker? Were you disturbing the local wildlife? Because it's now disturbing you, chasing you down the street in front of everyone. Maybe it's a herd of chupapaca or a swarm of fireflies. Or maybe you went old school and it's just a really pissed off badger. Godspeed and good luck.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.
Texts
All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.
- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- Display names may be changed by characters on the fly, but anyone can tap to see someone's real full name
Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.

[She thinks a moment, about her own trappings in he world, about the others, 1 and his insufferable cape and that stupid little hat.]
Something practical? Nothing flashy. No capes.
no subject
Why no capes, though? Personal bias? I mean, I'm not arguing, capes and helmets get to be a little much together, you don't wanna go full Thor
Not everyone can pull off giant wings on the sides of their head, let me tell you
Practical's good, though. How do you feel about belts and pouches?
no subject
Yes to pouches and belts.
Who are Thor and Edna Mode?
no subject
She's a character from a movie. The Incredibles. You haven't seen it? It's kind of amazing, about this family with superpowers
Thor's one of the Avengers. Although I guess I shouldn't assume anyone here knows them, it's kind of weird to think people don't. He's also a god sort of? IDK if that means anything to you either
no subject
Don't really buy into gods myself, but it sounds like he was well-known in your world?
no subject
Oh man, you're missing out. It kinda sucks we're stuck in this historical reenactment or I could show you. I could tell you the whole story, but it's just not the same.
Yeah, he's pretty well known. The Asgardians are complicated, I mean they're technically aliens I think? But they have some crazy advanced technology and magic and they visited Earth like thousands of years ago and humans then thought they were gods, like you do
no subject
What about you? It doesn't sound like you really believe it much yourself. Gods, that is.
no subject
And, well, back home, I can do magic, you know? I can create things. I can fly. I can cast spells. I can teleport. I've been traveling through alternate universes with a girl who can kick holes between dimensions, an alien bug soldier who likes 60s girl bands, a super smart guy and a girl with a bow. You learn to believe in the impossible
But gods, like in the sense most religions mean? IDK. I mean, I had a bar mitzvah, my family does Hanukkah and Passover and all the usual stuff, but I guess I've been questioning a while.
no subject
Certainly sounds like you have a little bit of everything.
What is a bar mitzvah?
no subject
Nevermind, it's cool
Yeah, Asgardians are basically just aliens, I think, even if they are super powerful and have all sorts of crazy magic and also basically live forever
A bar mitzvah is a coming of age ceremony. Like a rite of passage. When a kid turns 13, they become basically an adult in the community. My family's Jewish--I mean so am I, but, you know. See above questioning.

no subject
Yeah. Yeah, that's a good way to put it. I mean, it's a serious occasion, but there's the party afterward. My dad likes to joke that we just love any excuse to have a party, but it's good to celebrate milestones, you know? Like, birthdays are important, but it's different when it's A Birthday. One of the important numbers.

I mean, they're all important when you're a kid, but you know
13, because you're a teenager now, and if you're Jewish that means bar mitzvah
or bat mitzvah if you're a girl, because genders are still a thing, apparently
18, old enough to vote, or get drafted, see an R-rated movie, be considered an adult by the rest of society, sort of
21, old enough to drink legally
after that, it's just decades, I think. as many as you get

My family's reformed so girls and guys both have theirs at 13 but I think in Orthodox girls do theirs at 12? Something about puberty
