Test Drive
→ Holds and applications are always open. Holds are required for all applications.

→ Choose one of the scenarios below or make up your own. Feel free to try multiple scenarios.

→ Write LOGS or TEXT prompts, or both.

THERE ARE ONLY THREE RULES FOR THE TDM:
1. It has to take place in the 6I universe.
2. It cannot be the character's arrival into the game.
3. Please only test new characters who do not have a version in the game. Our cast list is here.

→ TDM threads cannot be used to meet AC, but if the character is accepted into the game and both players agree, you may keep the CR.

Character want ads are here.

Prompts

  1. STAYING POWER - Go down to the bunker, they said. You can get yourself amazing powers from the vending machine, they said. Well, you've done that, and you've made your choice, but one thing nobody told you was that unless it's a power you're familiar with, you might be on a teensy bit of a learning curve when it comes to keeping it under control. You have a week to figure it out without killing anyone; have fun!

  2. FORGIVE AND... - You poor thing, you've gotten into some dust moths. Not that you can remember that, because depending on how big that swarm was and how quickly you got out of it, you might not remember much at all. Better hope somebody's got some Forget Me Nots on hand.

  3. HIT & RUN - Life in the village can be pretty sleepy... until suddenly, it's not. Were you being a troublemaker? Were you disturbing the local wildlife? Because it's now disturbing you, chasing you down the street in front of everyone. Maybe it's a herd of chupapaca or a swarm of fireflies. Or maybe you went old school and it's just a really pissed off badger. Godspeed and good luck.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

Texts

All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.

- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- Display names may be changed by characters on the fly, but anyone can tap to see someone's real full name

Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.

"Not as often as I used to. Admittedly these days I am somewhat known publicly as either a hero, or mutant criminal. So most of them know I can teleport anyhow, and don't bother. Just a lot of terrible insults about my appearance, which I simply decide to hear as jealousy," he says with a playful smirk. "I take it differences of any sort in people are about as popular in your world as in mine, to prompt such a question."

"Ah, perhaps I can be of assistance, then," he says, hopping up and spinning to both stand and face her in one fluid motion. The fact that she doesn't blink twice at his appearance intrigues him, and he's sure God will forgive him shortening his usual prayers in the spirit of being neighborly.

"One moment, please, wait here," and he really does mean one moment. He disappears in a puff of bright purple smoke, then pops back without his devotional goodies. "I have indulged myself in the abilities I am familiar with having back home," he explains. "Teleportation, wall crawling, hiding in shadow. It makes traversing difficult terrain much easier. And I can take people with me. And I just can't resist being the one to offer to be the tour-guide to such a lovely woman such as yourself." His tone is playful, and the flirting light. He does add a dramatic bow to the mix, which his spaded tail extends to arc back and over his head.

"Kurt Wagner. A pleasure."

"Yes." So there's overlap. So she didn't wait for Eddie to finish. So what. She's filled with a mix of apprehension and excitement, getting a chance to talk to him on a face to face level without the press of a hostile invasion in the works, as well as practice these bought skills with someone who could take a punch.

"Doesn't sound like it would be a bad idea. Is it only the full moon, or will any moon do?"

"It's every night."

You know, because things are just so awesome in his life he's stopped sleeping.

"Truth be told I feel bad for the guy. He wants to be out talking to people, doing things, saying hello but he's...stuck. In me."

It's fucking weird.

"Every night. " Is she going to Havre to knock you out Eddie to ensure you get some shuteye?

"- and you probably don't want to risk the rest of the village finding out, at least not before you've gotten a chance to passionate them." She crosses her arms and looks at him - them, even if Venom isn't necessarily visible at this moment. "I can keep him company sometimes. Keep him busy while I have this enhancement. Maybe make sure he stays out of trouble. "

Farnese turned on her heel to face the one who had snuck up on her. She relaxed a little upon seeing it was just a person, rather than anything ... worse.

However, what he is saying is puzzling, and strange. She, too, had no memory of arriving here when she did, but for him to not know who he was seemed unusual. She had remembered everything about herself -- well, as far as she knew, she supposed -- despite not knowing how she had arrived.

And should he be wet, if he'd just come from the fountain ...? No, others had come from the bunker, too -- wasn't that right?

But she tried to remember what others had told her upon arrival. She was still a little disoriented herself, so certainly this other person would be quite upset as well.

"Well -- um, I do not know who you are, but ... I will tell you all that I know." Farnese straightened, a little, trying her best to recite from memory the things she herself had been informed on. "The other people who have been brought here from far away say that they also don't remember. Coming here, that is to say, they don't remember coming here."

She seems a bit nervous, now that she's the one being counted on to explain everything ...

Staying Power

Well, this is new. There was some crap about a vending machine, and a bunker, and well, Sam was a bit too curious for his own good. Still, this wasn't something he could have predicted, this Spider-Man crap, for lack of a better word.

Oh, and look, some unsuspecting person was passing by, and any minute now, they'd spot Sam in his curious predicament. Of course, he could stay silent and hope they wouldn't notice the man stuck to the wall next to them. But even he knew that was not all that likely to happen. And of course, about five seconds later, the jig was up and Sam knew he had to say something.

"Uh, hey, man. How's it going?" Playing it cool and casual always worked out, right? Right.

Forgive and...

Some days really just started out bad and snowballed from there. Today was one of those days. And for the record, Sam had never been a big fan of that feeling that something was on the tip of his tongue but he just couldn't remember what that was. Multiply that feeling by a thousand, and that was what he was dealing with right now.

"Hey." He stops the first person he sees walking by, and he gives himself a few seconds to see if he can place them. Of course, he can't; he's doing nothing but drawing blanks. But maybe there's a chance that they know him. "I'm- Well, I'm kind of trying to figure out where the inn is, and I guess I'm sort of turned around, if you know what I mean."

Come on, kind passerby, help a brother out.

Wildcard

Feel free to toss something else at Sam!

Sam had seen the new guy around, a little bit. Yet another underwear model to add to the ever-increasing number of underwear models drifting through the clown rodeo. But she didn't really know anything about him. Other than the sense that he was from That World.

Fucking everyone was from That World.

At any rate, she was a little surprised when he stopped her, as she was heading back after a fruitless hunt to find something worth salvaging in the Tubes. People tended to avoid strangers with pastel hair, she'd discovered.

Point for the new guy. For now.

"Uh, it's just down the road. I can walk you there, if you want," she said. A whole sentence without a single variation on the word 'fuck.' She was in a good mood.

Hawke's on her way back to the inn from the fountain, spending much of her time carving arrows there, and she has them hanging over her back now in a sling she put together. Her smile is instantly bright and warm, giving the man a curious once over. "Nope, you're on your own, fellow, good luck! Watch out for the monsters. Only seventy-five percent of them will try to eat you."

She lets that hold for a beat before winking. "Sorry about that, I'm a twat, course I'll show you the way." Her dark hair is coming out of the braid so it'll have to be redone when she gets back, wondering if she should chop it all off again. She definitely should stop trolling newcomers, the poor things. "I was kidding. It's a smaller percentage of murderous intent than that. More like fifty."

"I definitely think they are interested in what powers we would take and how we use them. I'm also curious about why we each get assigned particular powers too, but I'm still working on finding a pattern for that. I myself haven't shown any, but people swear it's true." Bruce has tried a few times to force the feeling of a power, and nothing happened. He really hopes it isn't triggered by danger, but with his luck, that's exactly what it will be.

After a beat he can't help but smile back. Bruce rarely smiles, and normally it's only a slight one, but he's been getting more used to them lately. "No, I don't. I'm sure I'll be a little sorry if we get attacked, but until then, I'm sticking with no." It was a struggle at first to decide what he wanted, but now the answer is easy. He crosses arms against his chest. "I didn't really get a chance to thank you. For keeping me out of Ross' sight, before and after Steve got there." It might seem obvious to Rhodey, but Bruce is only recently getting used to people sticking their necks out for him.

"I'll get my sleep. I've worked my way around late nights and early mornings before." She's confident she'll be able to handle this aspect of it better than it looks like Eddie has.

"Then we'll wait for dark. Until then, we - fix this door, with or without the illustrious Tony Stark, and when you feel the time is right, we'll take a late-night stroll and, see what can be done."

"I must have been mobbed." With his memory on him, this is where he'd crack a joke about the Mothman cryptid or a winged insect version of Hitchcock's The Birds, and Rhodey can feel the emptiness in the pause. There should be a snappy, snarky comment, and he just doesn't remember what to say. He leans against the wall instead. There's a good spot just above Tony's head to focus on when he needs to not look into his eyes.

"It can be fixed, though," he says, and he's looking at that spot. He doesn't remember. He doesn't remember sixteen year old Tony Stark at MIT and steering the kid through the lake of nerdy piranhas. He doesn't remember finally, finally finding him in the desert after too much looking. He doesn't remember Tony promising to fix it when Rhodey had fallen far enough and hard enough out of the sky that medical science hadn't had confidence. He doesn't remember Tony going into space and not coming back, and he doesn't remember having to hold the world together instead of chasing after him.

But somehow he knows something, he knows that this is a guy that has slapped more than one bandaid on, so to speak. His eyes shift that bare inch lower to meet Tony's. "Right?"

Now, Evie Frye is an Assassin. She's been learning the fine art of not drawing attention to herself (and, well, discreetly murdering people, but that's a bit beside the point) since she was approximately six years old. She is, therefore, well aware that if you think someone is following you, for God's sake don't make it obvious.

Which is why, when Anne comes up to her and takes her arm as casually as if they were just two friends walking down the street having a chat, she doesn't turn around. She barely even needs the warning. They make it to the inn common room, and Evie steers the other woman towards one of the tables, one with a good view out the front windows.

"Are you all right?" she asks in an undertone. "Was someone following you?"

She spares a long look outside, and — there's no one. Evie's brow creases slightly, but she's not yet on the point of questioning Anne's judgment. Maybe there really was someone and they've gone.

That's a name I know too. I think that tendency runs in the family, and sometimes it's a good idea to just go with it.

It wouldn't surprise him that Bruce had tried to force a power. Ultimately, that's where the Big Guy came from in the first place - at least Rhodey's always figured as much. That drive to figure things had laid more than one person low in their world; Rhodey wasn't immune to it, even if it wasn't the trait people identified with him first. The military put a veneer on him that was tough for most to see through.

"He is terrible at social occasions and puts a real damper on all sorts of regular interaction possibilities." He pauses a beat, and this time when the metal moves, it's with a little less wild uncertainty. "Funny, I could be talking about Big Green or Ross. I think he was born an ass and got extensive plastic surgery." He lowers his hand and glances back at Bruce. Truthfully, one of the first things he and Tony ever had in common was an innate ability to couch messier emotions in jokes and quips. Sometimes Rhodey has to remind himself to stop doing that. "You're a good guy, Bruce, and I liked you from the start. I wasn't going to bend over for that lily-livered pissant who'd gotten himself on a presidential cabinet. At least, not any more than I already had."

Duty's a funny thing, he thinks. Hard to let go of.

"These people are alien to me. More of you look English, speak English." And he was missing his Eagle Vision - the one thing that had let him know who and what he could believe. He had tried, and... nothing. No blue, no white, no yellow. Just now, all he could do was treat them all as if they glowed red and be ready for the worst.

"How was I brought here, among... if not Crusaders, then civilians? This is unlike any town I've seen." And more, he was unarmed.

He could not, would not, trust this.

It is some consolation that this poor random stranger rolls right along with Anne and helps sell the show. They get inside and seated and she feels a little bit better, but she's still glancing out the window - then over at the other patrons, scratching at a welt on her arm, and still feeling that press at the back of her mind that someone, somewhere, wishes ill harm on her.

"Yes - yes I was." She whispers back, looking flustered but genuine. "I didn't get a good look at who, but I can feel them. They're there."

She nods her head confidently; in her mind, there can be no doubt about this.

"English?" She tilted her head curiously. "I am from the city of Vritannis, but I know not of any English."

But, that wasn't terribly important right now, was it? She clears her throat, clasping her hands in front of her. His assessment about her being a civilian isn't ... exactly true, and is a very long story, but she'll do her best to address the rest.

"I have never seen a place like this, either. In that, we are alike," she admitted sheepishly. "The buildings are strange, and the people talk of many events and ... and things I have never heard before." She paused, realizing that although it might make him feel a bit better to know he wasn't alone in how weird it was, it wasn't exactly ... helpful. "Th-the people here seem willing to teach their ways."

He's silent for a moment as he stands, his head tilted up a bit and to one side, but then words are almost unnecessary here. His expression's that purely military forbidding thing that has struck terror into the hearts of many men and women, but Rhodey's ruining a long since perfected Scary Dad look with the glint of unholy glee in his eyes. Of course, Sam's not one to fall for the Scary Dad routine, anyway, so it's fine.

"You know, my mom used to have a poster with a similar position, but the cat was cuter, and it said Hang in There! Do you think we should paint that on the wall?"
