Prompts

July is going to be wet and wild, villagers. Keep an eye to the sky and hold onto your hats!

  1. SAVING FACE - Look at you, trying to save that goat or dog or ZALPACA that's gotten stranded in a particularly nasty storm! You're a regular hero, trudging up that cliffside or swiming across that creek! Unfortunately, the sky didn't get the memo about your heroics, and it's just opened up even more. Finishing this job just got a heck of a lot worse. Good thing someone else just showed up to help both you and your animal pal. You hope. It's possible they're just there to laugh at you.

  2. PANTS ON FIRE - You know what's great? When the storm breaks, the skies start to clear and everything looks sunny again. You know what's not? When the weather pushes the LYING MIST down from the mountainside while you're out trying to clean up. Hope you don't have any whoppers you're trying to keep secret!

  3. SINK OR SWIM - The days when it's not storming are just beautiful, and the village river is running high. There are spots out of the current that are perfect for a cool dip or lounging on the shore, but take care you don't go out too far and get swept away. Oh, and watch out for the RAINBOW CRABS, those claws are sharp.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

Texts

All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.

- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- No usernames, everyone is listed by their name

Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.
littledhampir: ♫ By the way, I never liked your face. (Does this look like a good time?)

“No need. We may not have God, but we’ve got plenty of crazy.” Again it would be easy to assume she’s joking, her tone far too casual for there to be anything to her words, but it had more than once been said that Rose could be described as a lot of things; Sane just wasn’t one of them. She might have been willing to share that little tidbit, if it didn’t hit a little too close to home.

“Yeah… I kind of made a deal with God.” A completely one sided deal, mind you. “I agreed to believe he existed so long as he or she agreed to let me sleep in on Sundays.” If anyone should believe present company excepted - it probably should be Rose. With all she’d seen, experienced, especially when it came to the dead. Lets just say there was something to a lot of the stuff in the bible, even if she suspected it was altered by the oldest game of chinese whispers known to man.

Though the moment is brief, he might see the tension that causes her shoulders to stiffen, Rose’s fingers brushing at the shredded material that covers her stomach. Remarkably, she doesn’t appear to bear any scars, yet it was hard to imagine that anything that could do that to her clothes, hadn’t taken a piece out of her as well.

“You should see the other guy.” Immediately falling back on flippant humor, rather than reveal the truth. He’d hear the story soon enough. Deaths around here were so rare that she doubted the story would - mind the pun - die quickly.

“I’m fine. My scrubs, not so much.” Which was why she was here, her spare set in hand, Rose intending on trying to wash them. “Unfortunately you can’t get a refund on damaged goods around here.”
