Prompts

July is going to be wet and wild, villagers. Keep an eye to the sky and hold onto your hats!

  1. SAVING FACE - Look at you, trying to save that goat or dog or ZALPACA that's gotten stranded in a particularly nasty storm! You're a regular hero, trudging up that cliffside or swiming across that creek! Unfortunately, the sky didn't get the memo about your heroics, and it's just opened up even more. Finishing this job just got a heck of a lot worse. Good thing someone else just showed up to help both you and your animal pal. You hope. It's possible they're just there to laugh at you.

  2. PANTS ON FIRE - You know what's great? When the storm breaks, the skies start to clear and everything looks sunny again. You know what's not? When the weather pushes the LYING MIST down from the mountainside while you're out trying to clean up. Hope you don't have any whoppers you're trying to keep secret!

  3. SINK OR SWIM - The days when it's not storming are just beautiful, and the village river is running high. There are spots out of the current that are perfect for a cool dip or lounging on the shore, but take care you don't go out too far and get swept away. Oh, and watch out for the RAINBOW CRABS, those claws are sharp.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

Texts

All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.

- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- No usernames, everyone is listed by their name

Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.

"Power is much better than being powerless, unable to stop things that would be within your control with the power you could have had." He spoke as he took to leaning his arm on a tree, feeling the bark against the skin of his forearm. He hated the way things felt without his usual power. "I do understand, in a way. My parents were much the same. My mother was murdered for power, and my father locked away for endless torture, power robbed of them. However, power could also avenge them." He spoke not able to stop the flow of words and he hated it. These demons needed locked up.

Vergil needed to take a page from Adrian's book.

"Not at all, my only grab for power is in my own world. I want to save my people. Not see them enslaved once more." He still firmly believed he would have been a better king.

"Well, I think we're all equally powerless here." Case in point - he still burns in the sun, he still can't eat much that isn't blood but he doesn't have his magic or his strength. It's really not a strike in favor of this village and Adrian can't wait to get out of here for good.

"Unless you count physical strength. Then there's some advantages and disadvantages. But everything I had that used to even the playing field? Gone."

Vergil assumed he was human not, because none of his abilities worked, his breed didn't really have major flaws like burning. So, he assumed he was human. "It would seem so, yes." He agreed, as sad as it was, he was getting used to it.

"Likewise, I was a much bigger player in the scale of things in my own world. Here... I am just the guy with the platinum hair." He figured that made him stand out more than anything else.

"Having good hair isn't something to discount," Adrian says wryly. "Many men have been dethroned because they didn't take care of their hair. No one wants a bad looking overlord."

It's wry and sarcastic and Adrian chances a smile. "I get it, though. It's hard being a nobody."
