Prompts
Summer is here, villagers! Sunny skies, warm weather and plenty of weirdness are on the horizon. Don't forget your sunscreen!
- THE MILK FOR FREE - Somehow, someway, you have been wrangled into milking one of the GROFFLES recently rounded up by your fellow villagers. Maybe you felt guilty for not helping, or maybe you owe someone scary money. Point is, it's just you, a bucket, and your green milk-giving friend. Just a tip: Groffles are good-natured, but you probably shouldn't squeeze too hard.
- LIGHTNING ROD - Earlier today, you made your way into the upper foothills — Were you hunting? Maybe just roaming? — and you came into contact with a BLUE LILY. Maybe you thought it was so pretty you've carried it back to the village with you. If your house didn't have electricity before, it definitely does now!
- MEET CUTE - It's a classic: You've gone down into the 6I INN'S dirt-walled root cellar off the kitchen. Maybe you needed supplies or were dropping off some fresh produce. Whatever the case, someone's followed you down for a similar reason... and the door has jammed shut behind them. Seriously, it's not budging. Enjoy getting to know your new best friend in the cozy light of the furnace!
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

"I think the scouts give badges for farm stuff," Jean says, squinting a bit at the other girl. She looks familiar. Really familiar.
"I know this is going to sound really weird - but I think I know you. It's Ms. Marvel, right?"
no subject
"What?" It's about then she really looks at Jean. That recognition is mutual. She loves the X-Men. Of course she'd recognize one who stopped wearing the mask when she grew up. "Aren't you with the X-Men?!" It's not as loud as she'd usually be. Blame the horror movie she left behind. Normally she'd mess up someone's eye drums with her shouting. Instead she's a little louder than a normal talking pitch.

"I didn't think I would be lucky enough to meet someone who seems to be from my version of the world. Nobody else knows who I am and while that's fine and all, I think it's good to know there's someone here who knows about home."
no subject
She lets go of her hand. If this is Jean Grey, it is totally plausible she knows her. She's honestly 90% positive Wolverine does too and is too polite to say anything. She may as well ask while they're here. It's not like anyone can hurt her family in revenge or something when they're on another world. "I am Kamala Khan: noted lover of all things Carol Danvers related." She leans in even if it's totally unnecessary. "Did we team up? Because I'd be so stoked to hear that, but I honestly don't remember."
no subject
Jean laughs a bit and shakes her head. "Town is Madripoor right now, so it's kind of a long trip, but that's nothing between friends, right?"
God, it's a relief to be with someone who just gets it. This village is weird in and of itself and Jean can handle weird - but it's hard to handle weird without worrying about what's going on at home.

The rest earns a thoughtful hum. "That sounds totally in character for me. Things must be bad if the Avengers needed an assist from me. I guess invasions count as bad, huh?" She scratches the back of her head and softly laughs. A moment later she drops it and gives voice to similar concerns. "I hope everything turns out okay. It probably will if only some of the Avengers are involved." Her faith in them hasn't been tested and shattered just yet.
no subject
Jean laughs, though, because even though she'd definitely have Kamala join the X-Men for a team-up whenever she wanted, she definitely still loves her team. It just gets tiresome being with teenage boys all the time.
"I think things are going to come out ok. They don't always - I've been doing this long enough to know that - but I have faith in us."
no subject
Kamala shrugs the rest off or rather the part where not winning is a chance. Kamala doesn't like to think like that. She has the benefit of having a happier story though. She can afford to think that way. "Nothing is ever perfect, but your team is legendary even when its split up like ten different ways. You guys will do great." She offers a thumbs up. "Just know that I will totally be cheering you on wherever I am!"

Maybe the X-Men have a good reputation for the most part but Jean still feels that stigma. She remembers when she tried to be "normal" for a while and got rejected.
"You know, all I wanted was to be normal and now I am, I guess, and I kind of hate it. Is it the same for you?"
no subject
"A little? But, also the opposite. I always wanted to be more, but my idea of it used to be more meant being like everyone else. I should be blond, beautiful, and uncomplicated or something. Things changed obviously and more meant being the best me. I can still do that, but I miss... I don't know. Having the physical proof I changed?" Kamala laughs. She's making no sense. "The healing factor was amazing too. That I definitely hate going without."
