Prompts
It's springtime in your brand-new home, villagers! Many exciting new experiences await you, although you might want to take care; not all are for the faint of heart.
- NEW FRIENDS - Congratulations, you are now the lucky recipient of the undying love and devotion of your very own CROC-DOG. Maybe you fed it, or maybe you just didn't run away screaming when you saw it. Regardless, it's your buddy now through thick and thin. Constantly. Everywhere. All the time. We hope you're up for some companionship!
- LET YOUR EENT SHINE DOWN - You've come across a SHINE BIRD. You heard its call. Now you can expect an hour's worth of sudden, intense increase in one of four emotions: Joy, sorrow, rage or loneliness. It's entirely possible you'll be apologizing to some people tomorrow.
- SPRING IN SPRING - Hey look, it's everybody's favorite prompt: It's warm enough now that it's not completely crazy to go have a dip in the HOT SPRINGS. Naked. And then accidentally get caught.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.
Texts
All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.
- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- No usernames, everyone is listed by their name
Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.

He gets that feeling again today while he's out exploring, not quite ready to ask if anyone here will accompany him, but it's a good thought. He could use it. Gauge the area. Gauge the people, too. Here, though, is one person he doesn't have to gauge.
He knows her, maybe even better than he knows himself. The last time he'd been next to her he'd been clutching her hand while murmuring The Lord's Prayer softly, praying with everything he had that he wouldn't lose her. To hear her now, she sounds like---none of that has happened. Or at least she's gotten better. ]
Guess I'll have to surprise you then. I had no idea it was you, just someone.
[ If there's anyone in this place that he can be honest with: it's Elektra. He stands, posture loose and inviting. It's incredible how easily she's found her way back into his space. Into his life. He should be upset and he isn't. ]
Also, I think I've been adopted by---this whatever it is.

She can't. That's weak and she's not going to be weak in front of Matthew, not when she's still deciding on what she intends to do next. There's so many glorious options, but she's only going to get one chance. She also doesn't believe him twice, she feels like it's necessary to point out.]
You don't have to lie to me.
[She's waiting for him to comment on her smell, her heart, something, but while she waits, she can point out the other ridiculous travesty he's spouting.]
And it didn't adopt you. Something can't adopt you when you've probably already decided to take it in.
[He can't see her, never could, but she still arches her brow pointedly at him as if she expects him to read the expression on her face as the telling shout it is.]
no subject
I'm not lying.
[ As far as the adoption thing goes--- ] He was hungry, I think. Then he started following me around. At least it might be a boy. Could be a girl. I'm pretty sure it's not a dog. ]
You not believing the first thing I said isn't going to magically change it. It's something about this place.

Leaning onto the tip of her toe, she walks as silently as she can up to Matt, standing directly in his space so she can peer at his face, investigating his claim that he's not lying. Those Catholic schoolboy values of his are hard to escape, so he's probably not lying, but even so...
Why not test the theory?]
Whatever you're petting is most definitely not something you'd find at the pound, unless New York's broadened its definition of pet.
[While she's speaking, she's sidled herself right up against him, and when she's close enough, she grabs him by the balls without warning, with little kindness. The knife she'd been using is still stuck in the ground behind her, and she could have gone for the throat, could have struck his face, but this feels more intimate.
Besides, why ruin that pretty face?]
Still not lying?
[Fight back, her actions scream, a dare for him, a challenge. Fight, dig deep into that place, push.]
no subject
He's about to respond, but well---something else has his attention rather focused. He gives a sharp intake of breath, reaching down and grabbing her wrist, twisting hard to break her hold. He doesn't care how light hers was. ]
Seriously, I tell you the truth and you decide to test that by doing this?
[ God, she always had a way of getting under his skin but this was overkill. ] Let's take a minute and fact check who, out of the both of us, has lied to the other more.
[ It's snappish and irritated and punctuated with a shove to get distance between them after. ]
no subject
I wasn't entirely sure it was the truth. After all, you're not so honest with everyone in your life, are you?
[After all, why else would she have found that silly old suit of his, ready for the wearing again. She understands the need for a mask as much as anyone, but it's rich to pretend that he's so honest when he hides himself away.]
I don't lie about the important things. You know that.
[And if he doesn't, then he's stupider than Elektra recalls.]
no subject
I was honest with you. It didn't get me very far. Left in the suburbs with a bloody mobster if I recall.
[ It's not wrong to want normal. To want the things that regular people have, is it? He did want Elektra once. Maybe he still does. But he would be honest with Karen if he thought he could be. That's the rub of it, isn't it? He's not sure he can be. Elektra is the only person who knows him. ]
I'm glad to hear you can make that distinction. It's just a game of what's important to Elektra Natchios.
[ She's so close to him and it makes him angry and makes him want. He's missed her and he hates that he does. He hates that the first thought in his mind isn't to fight her, but to cup her face in his hands and kiss her until he's sure she won't run away again. ]
no subject
Of course, with Matthew, the other way around was always very pleasurable, too.]
You're important to me.
[It's a fierce accusation, not a sappy comment. It's a challenge, as if she's daring him to call her on it. After all this time, even through the games they play (the ones she chose to play and the ones she was forced to), that's a truth that's not ever going to dwindle. She's still pressed so close, she can practically feel his heart beating, and all she wants to do is stare up at him, looking at that face as long as she can.]
Besides, I was taught from a young age that lying was critical to the success of my placement. I had to be what he wanted, at least, until he wanted me dead.
[Then, she simply couldn't give Stick that victory. At least, not so easily.]
