Prompts
It's springtime in your brand-new home, villagers! Many exciting new experiences await you, although you might want to take care; not all are for the faint of heart.
- NEW FRIENDS - Congratulations, you are now the lucky recipient of the undying love and devotion of your very own CROC-DOG. Maybe you fed it, or maybe you just didn't run away screaming when you saw it. Regardless, it's your buddy now through thick and thin. Constantly. Everywhere. All the time. We hope you're up for some companionship!
- LET YOUR EENT SHINE DOWN - You've come across a SHINE BIRD. You heard its call. Now you can expect an hour's worth of sudden, intense increase in one of four emotions: Joy, sorrow, rage or loneliness. It's entirely possible you'll be apologizing to some people tomorrow.
- SPRING IN SPRING - Hey look, it's everybody's favorite prompt: It's warm enough now that it's not completely crazy to go have a dip in the HOT SPRINGS. Naked. And then accidentally get caught.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.
- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- No usernames, everyone is listed by their name

Seeing him again now is a little better, although she still feels dizzy and her heart is knocking against her ribcage like a bird. She's so relieved and angry and hurt and happy — Once, talking had been the easiest thing in the world for them. Now she has little idea of what to even say.
"Hey," she says, arms slipping across her middle, fingers clutching at her elbows in some attempt to steady herself. "Looks like you found a friend."

Through the few offers to help, and his choked demand to know what happened---the crying had been so easy to pick out. It'd been surprisingly wrenching, finding his way to her in confusion as to why she was reacting this way. Talking had been difficult in a way he was unfamiliar with and left an ache his his chest. He remembers the restaurant, the rain, and even the hospital in stolen moments.
He knows her, except he feels like the suddenly doesn't now.
The way she stands is one he knows, her way of trying to shield herself. Still, he can't help the dry huff of a laugh that comes through at her comment.
"Yeah, uh," He shifts to stand after another pet, and clutches his cane the way he does before he addresses a courtroom. Apparently, his new friend takes issue and tugs at the leg of his scrubs. "I'm pretty sure I remember what dogs look like, and I don't think that actually is one. They seem friendly enough, though."

"It seems like everyday I see someone new with one. So far they haven't been a problem. I've managed to escape being chosen. Maybe because I have an actual dog at home, I don't know."
no subject
He clears his throat gently, and shrugs a little for her benefit. "Maybe. I've, uh never had one. Foggy always insisted. I'm pretty sure this isn't what he had in mind."

The awkwardness begins to press in again, and Karen clears her throat as she casts for what to say next. The small talk will only cut it for so long, but how in the hell does she even start?
"Are you... You've got everything you need?" She knows Matt is perfectly competent, but she knows too that this place doesn't play by the rules. "Sometimes people take things from houses that don't have anybody in them, then somebody moves in and realizes they don't have any towels."
no subject
Matt's trying, but he's really at a loss for what to say. There's no rulebook for this kind of thing.
"Ah, yeah, for the most part," he says. "There's just a bit of an adjustment period, I guess." He laughs about the comment about the houses and towels. "Oh, I've got towels. Actually I can't tell if it's a blanket or a towel. Both pretty scratchy to me."
A really poor joke, but he does usually have silk sheets. Or did.
