Test Drive
The 3 rules of the TDM
- It has to take place in the 6I universe.
- It cannot be the character's arrival into the game.
- Please only test new characters who do not have a version in the game. Our cast list is here.
Prompts
- FULL VIEW - The Observers really do their best to make each villager's wrist device as user-friendly for them as possible, but with all new tech, sometimes there's a learning curve... And sometimes, you just screw up. Like now, when you've accidentally triggered the video option and called someone completely random on the network without realizing it. Yep, you're just going about whatever, totally oblivious. Here's to hoping that your clothes are fully on, and that the person on the other end is nice enough to speak up sooner rather than later.
- SHADOW OF A DOUBT - Being the intrepid (or just bored) villager you are, you've gone exploring and found yourself a very interesting (if moderately spooky) cave. What lurks in the dark? Might it be some shadow dust to turn you intangible? Or perhaps a cave wolf with all of its little goblin-monkey friends? Maybe, just maybe, it's both.
- ILL AT EASE - 'Tis the season for the common cold, and you've got it. Unfortunately, the village doesn't have a corner drug store, so you're achy, miserable, maybe a little feverish. The good news is a little time in bed should do the trick. That is, if you're not the sort who has to be bullied to take care of yourself anytime you get sick. Either way, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find someone to tuck you in and bring you some chicken soup.
- WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.
- NETWORK - All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text and video messages to other villagers. Text and/or video are allowed, any length. Display names may be changed by characters on the fly, but anyone can tap to see someone's real full name.
Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT NAMES in your SUBJECT LINE.

Mazikeen Smith | Lucifer
Maze is so bored that she's pretty sure she's going to die from it. She's done everything she can think of doing to keep busy but to no avail. She's played pranks on the humans, tried to get a few to have sex with her, travelled the island and even hunted the Wendigo for a challenge. With or without powers, she was still Hell's Best Torturer and a demon who didn't take well to having literally nothing to do.
Wait a second...
When the feed activates, Maze is completely nude, sitting back in a chair with her slender legs up on the table crossed.
It's not entirely planned. She has no idea there's someone staring at her through the device on her wrist. But that just makes it more fun now.
Wild Card - Fire Manipulation
Living like a human over the last few weeks is pissing her off more now than ever. One might even say she's close to insanity by this point and most of those she's crossed paths with can probably agree. But that evening, she's feeling more unhinged than normal.
While sitting in front of a fire she built outside the house she claimed, Maze stares into the flames with an intensity that no one would understand but a particular Devil, who she's been avoiding out of anger because she thinks all this is his fault for most likely pissing off "dear old Dad".
Again.
Full View
"I feel like I have to find somewhere private to watch this."
Bull is in one of the watchtowers, bright blue sky behind him. And he looks just like what humans think demons look like.

"Where's the fun in that?" Mazikeen asks, tilting her head coyly.

"I don't think you have anything to worry about. But I can keep you busy until the next watch shows up."

Wild Card
He's only hoping that she's willing to see him. Things haven't been awful between them, but Lucifer would hesitate to say they're peachy. Ever since the incident with Mum, it's been fraught, but shared torment in a prison seems a place to make amends, no? Besides, he has spoils to share.
Offering a half-bottle of terrible liquor (that he'd stolen), he settles in beside her. "Have you broken anyone yet?"
no subject
Just give her five minutes. It doesn't seem to take him long.
Maze's eyes move to the left where the offered bottle is dangled and she nabs it before looking at him with a-thousand-death glare that will answer his question. Arriving there was one thing; him avoiding her was another. Not having her powers was the whipped cream on the proverbial Blow Job shot.
Horrific.
"Hello to you, too, Lucifer," she said instead, bitterly, taking another pull off the bottle.
no subject
Lucky for him, he's brought the liquor to try and soften things, even if it's absolutely terrible. "I'm sorry I wasn't your welcome wagon," he admits, and there is a shred of sincerity in his apology. "Though, I also didn't want to be the first one you saw. You can get ... stabby."
no subject
But, then Maze hears it. That sickening tinge of 'woe is me' that makes her want to puke because it reminds her of Chloe and what she made Lucifer into.
Rolling her eyes, she looks at him for a long moment and dropped her shoulders, surrendering to the accuracy of that fact. "Well, I would've if I had something to stab someone with."
Maze took another swig and made a face before holding it back out to him. It was putrid, to say the least.
"So why are we here? And don't give me any of that bullshit about Observers. What did you do to piss him off now?"
no subject
"The only other explanation is that this is Mum's new world and somehow, we got sucked into it," he says, though the flaming sword is no longer in use, so how did they end up here, not to mention soaking and missing their powers. "They took my wings," he complains sharply. "And your knives."
no subject
Only then he said something that made some sense. Maybe not completely since Charlotte slash Mum wasn't among them. Chloe was but she obviously arrived attached at Lucifer's hip, as usual.
"Is this all you've been thinking about since you got here? Lucifer, this is your father's doing and this has everything to do with you meddling in Cain's punishment. And as always, you drag me into your stupid family drama like I'm part of it!"
Maze punctuates that fact by stealing the bottle from him again.
no subject
"I didn't ask for you to be brought here!" he protests, and only belatedly does he hear how that sounds. It's not that he doesn't want Maze here with him, because at least it will be good to have someone who understands him, but dragging her to purgatory is the last thing he's after.
Especially when things are so complicated. "This is absolutely Mum or Dad's doing," he says, sure of that. "Some sort of punishment or revenge, but it's never stopped me before and it won't this time. We'll find a way out."
no subject
Maze sits listening, taking a swig from the bottle while her knee begins to bounce impatiently.
"Oh, come on!" Maze abruptly interrupts as soon as he says it, standing now because her anger is mounting again. "You said it yourself - I'm your demon. I can't do this without you, Mazikeen. At least we have each other, right, Maze?"
After she's done impersonating him she leans forward and points a finger into his face.
"Yeah, sure, I know it's them BUT ALL BECAUSE YOU PISSED THEM OFF!"
As soon as her voice switches to a yell, the tip of her finger ignites into a flame.
no subject
"Maze," he laughs, trying to calm the situation down. "Yes, I admit, things may have grown out of my control," he replies, his tone stressed, "but what was I supposed to do? Cain is the Sinnerman," he says heatedly. "He could destroy everything. Isn't it better to help him, stick it to Dad, get some leverage?"
This is a pit stop, they'll find their way out of it, he truly believes that.
no subject
Freezing in place, her eyes go from his face to her finger and then grow wide looking at the flame dancing on her finger. "I thought we didn't have powers here," Maze says, leaning back again. Not that it was an ability the demon had before. As she stares at it, the fire grows in size. "Are you doing this?"
It was a fair question to ask.
no subject
Maze with the power to fling fire.
It's a dangerous thing all right. "This should be fun."
Wild Card
It might be edging on mothering, actually, and it isn't that she's stalking Maze--not exactly--but she is keeping a close eye on her to make sure that she's staying out of trouble. At least, as much as can be expected for Maze.
When she swings by to check on her that evening, she isn't exactly shocked to find her friend glowering into a fire, although it's not as if Chloe can grasp the extent of Maze's anger. Chloe sits down next to her, folding her hands in front of her and sitting in silence for a moment before she turns her head and offers a soft smile.
"Come on. It's not that bad."
It really is, but someone has to be the optimistic one.
no subject
And no matter how much she wanted to be mad that she was there, too, Maze was more angry with Lucifer because clearly, this was a punishment for something he did to piss off his father.
Maze narrows her eyes in her direction. "No? So all this is okay with you? You're totally fine with Trixie being back in LA without you."
no subject
"Of course I'm not okay with it." Her tone is sharper than what she usually uses with Maze, but her friend is right. Chloe isn't okay with any of this. But, as usual, she is forced into being the reasonable one out of the three of them, and falling into that role makes it easier for her to forget all her insecurities. "But we don't really have a choice, do we? We're here and there's nothing we can do about it except figure out a way to be okay."
