Test Drive
→ Holds and applications are always open. Holds are required for all applications.

→ Choose one of the scenarios below or make up your own. Feel free to try multiple scenarios.

→ Write LOGS or TEXT prompts, or both.

THERE ARE ONLY THREE RULES FOR THE TDM:
1. It has to take place in the 6I universe.
2. It cannot be the character's arrival into the game.
3. Please only test new characters who do not have a version in the game. Our cast list is here.

→ TDM threads cannot be used to meet AC, but if the character is accepted into the game and both players agree, you may keep the CR.

Character want ads are here.

Prompts

  1. STAYING POWER - Go down to the bunker, they said. You can get yourself amazing powers from the vending machine, they said. Well, you've done that, and you've made your choice, but one thing nobody told you was that unless it's a power you're familiar with, you might be on a teensy bit of a learning curve when it comes to keeping it under control. You have a week to figure it out without killing anyone; have fun!

  2. FORGIVE AND... - You poor thing, you've gotten into some dust moths. Not that you can remember that, because depending on how big that swarm was and how quickly you got out of it, you might not remember much at all. Better hope somebody's got some Forget Me Nots on hand.

  3. HIT & RUN - Life in the village can be pretty sleepy... until suddenly, it's not. Were you being a troublemaker? Were you disturbing the local wildlife? Because it's now disturbing you, chasing you down the street in front of everyone. Maybe it's a herd of chupapaca or a swarm of fireflies. Or maybe you went old school and it's just a really pissed off badger. Godspeed and good luck.

  4. WILDCARD - Choose your own adventure. Maybe play powers roulette.

Texts

All characters are fitted with a smart watch-like device on their left wrist, which they can use to send text messages to other villagers.

- Texts may only be 140 characters long
- No video or voice, text only
- Display names may be changed by characters on the fly, but anyone can tap to see someone's real full name

Please list your CHARACTER NAME, CANON & PROMPT in your SUBJECT LINE.

It's what he likes best about Sam; Sam knows to play along, and it's a short list of people who actually look past the surface with Rhodey. He expects it's a short list of people who look past the surface in general, though, so he can't really blame them particularly.

"Dude, you don't even have the right ears. Without that you're a mangy dumpster cat who'll probably break into the kibble at first shot." Rhodey, come on, you're just describing your sometime college roommate. No, not Tony. "I'm fresh out of paint, but I guess I could help you down instead."

That we do. And I'd argue your mother is at least more popular than mine. Also much easier to get along with.

"Did he? That's interesting." The time's long past when Rhodey could have been a scientist himself, but the seed of it was always there - otherwise, why go to MIT and not Penn State or UMass before joining the air force. He's still got that curious brain, he's just tuned it in other directions for a very long time.

The nature of his work has meant that curiosity has been aimed at two things in particular. Weaponry, that's for certain, and that's the one that made it easy for he and Tony to stay so close for so long. But people is the other thing. It makes sense, if you think about it. Rhodey's an officer, and an integral part of survival has been knowing his men and his women. It extends to his friends.

"Tony sometimes feels like when he does a wrong thing he has to do a 180 to do a right thing," he says after a moment. He carefully shapes metal into a ball. "Even if it's a 45, maybe 90 degrees from being on the right track. And I've...I'd been with the United States military for a very long time. It was hard to think that the right thing would be to turn my back on everything I'd spent my life on."

Wait, you know who I am?

[Okay, play it cool, Billy, stop being a nerd.]

I mean like. I'm still kinda getting used to Wanda being our mom, sort of, I guess I didn't think anybody else would be paying attention

I mean, cool.

[Yep. Totally nailed it.]

So why pirates?
praypal: (sheepish)

[personal profile] praypal 2018-11-15 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Wanda's been to the school to help train Pixie in her magic. We talk sometimes, she's a lovely woman, and has mentioned you and your brother. [ Evidently, Kurt is not one of the many mutants still holding a grudge about M-Day. And one of the even fewer who will have a nice, civil conversation with her. ]

Someone gave me a Turner Classics collection of Errol Flynn movies as a young, impressionable elf and it grew from there. I believe some of the students have dubbed me a "pirate nerd." Which is a fair assessment, I guess.

Oh, that right there is a spot so sore it probably registers as at least a five on the pain scale. Best to keep it behind your teeth most of the time.

We've been friends since MIT - it's got to be going on forty years now.

Farnese looked a little surprised that he was asking after her. After all, she was the one who had caused the disturbance and inconvenienced him ...

She nodded quickly, not wanting to worry this stranger. Funny enough, the flying and landing don't seem to bother her in the slightest -- it quite reminded her of Serpico when he used his cloak.

"I am just fine. It is just ... " She worried her lip, trying to think of how to express her frustrations properly. She opted to pick up the stick, first. "The wind is harder to control than I had thought."

She looked him over, to make sure that he had no scrapes that she could see from the tree. "Are--are you alright? I really am terribly sorry."

Should we depart the land of rain and gray skies here, I will absolutely take you straight to New Mexico. I might even have to record this for posterity.

I haven't. The movies I saw were more ... informative.

Don't really buy into gods myself, but it sounds like he was well-known in your world?

"Just - a little itchy, from the bites. It's nothing, it'll go down." She's also slightly flushed with a light fever, but didn't want to admit she might be unwell; she wanted to be up and alert, if there's someone coming to get her she's not about to risk letting someone talk her into bedrest or anything of the sort.

Another glance out the window.

"No, I'm fine. Just peachy."

"Yes ma'am."

He salutes, a smile on his face, but it fades the moment he's down the hallway. Looking back at her with a sense of longing he doesn't know what disturbs him more. That he feels that - or that Venom feels that.

I learned that very quickly, though where I come from, Howard isn't truly awful. Simply a touch neglectful.

Forty years? You can't be serious, you hardly look that age at all.

Oh man, you're missing out. It kinda sucks we're stuck in this historical reenactment or I could show you. I could tell you the whole story, but it's just not the same.

Yeah, he's pretty well known. The Asgardians are complicated, I mean they're technically aliens I think? But they have some crazy advanced technology and magic and they visited Earth like thousands of years ago and humans then thought they were gods, like you do

you know, I was going to ask about what counts as a 'pro hero.' but honestly, I'm a little more concerned about that user name.
buildinghope: (wonder and disbelief)

[personal profile] buildinghope 2018-11-16 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
There are definitely</> some that had looked more than a little likely to be dangerous in the wrong hands. Or any hands, provided said hands hadn't been expecting to end up with the abilities in question. Not that she can't still understand the appeal, but well. She has at least some sense of self-preservation, even if people might not always believe it.

"Definitely a little more on the dangerous side, that one. Not that it couldn't still be useful! But you'd want somewhere a little less populated to practice it."

And prefer somewhere that was at least reasonably fire resistant. That or somewhere with a decent supply of water on hand. Just in case of accidents.

If you have to ask, it's not about you.

What the hell is wrong with my username?
buildinghope: (or we could move on)

[personal profile] buildinghope 2018-11-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there's the 'murder' part, for one.

It's my future hero name.

[Or not, because his teacher won't actually let him use it, probably for this exact reason.]

I'm not running around killing people if that's what you're worried about.
buildinghope: (wonder and disbelief)

[personal profile] buildinghope 2018-11-16 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
That's a terrible name for a hero.

[But she was worried, a little, even if she isn't saying as much.]
damagedpride: (pic#12594785)

[personal profile] damagedpride 2018-11-16 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
What do you know? It sounds powerful as hell. And villains are supposed to feel fear when they hear a hero's name.
buildinghope: (or we could move on)

[personal profile] buildinghope 2018-11-16 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
For one, I know that it sounds like a villain name more than a hero one.

Whatever. Who the hell are you anyway?
