"Looks fucking painful," Kovacs says, eyebrows inching up towards his hairline. He's seen a lot of fucked up body modifications but he doubts anyone would get themselves purposely done up like that.

"Too bad you're not where I'm from. They could just kill you, start over in a better body," Kovacs tells him. "Might make you prettier. A little less liable to fall to pieces if someone knocks into you just the right way."
