Edwin Jarvis | Agent Carter | OTA

Snow Blind

Jarvis didn't mind snow. In fact, he rather liked it. It was always pleasant to watch from inside a nice warm house, with an equally nice warm cup of tea within easy reach. But now, he was beginning to think that perhaps he wasn't so fond of the snow after all. It was pure foolishness that he was out here at all, but then again, there hadn't been a storm when he first ventured out.

At first, he thought the storm would pass, but as he kept trudging on, he realized it was showing no signs of stopping. So, he reasoned, his best chance was to try and find some shelter, and quickly. But, the "quickly" part of the equation didn't seem to be happening, as Jarvis found himself confronted with nothing but blasts of snow and no buildings seemingly nearby that he could shelter in.

"Well, this is rather inconvenient," he announced aloud to the empty air. "One would think there'd be a building, or a house, or something around here, but I seem to have picked the one area that has none of those things. Or perhaps I've walked right past them without knowing it." Talking did nothing to help this situation, but he'd always found that voicing his thoughts helped keep them in line, and sometimes even resulted in ideas coming that he hadn't yet realized.

"Nothing to do now but keep going, I suppose. Come on, then: you can do it. Just put one foot in front of the other." And with that bit of helpful advice, Jarvis began doing just that.

Jumped Up

Jarvis preferred having both feet remaining firmly on the ground, but there was that feather, and it was rather intriguing. So he picked it up, and the next thing he knew, he was off the ground and flying. Well, it was more like awkwardly hovering while he tried to figure out just what in the world he was doing than anything resembling real flight, but it was something.

Control was not something he'd yet mastered, so at this precise moment, he did not resemble his usual dignified self. Rather, he appeared decidedly undignified, incredibly flustered, and absolutely unsure of what he ought to do to get himself out of this mess.

"Would you believe it if I said I've never flown before? Well, I have, just not exactly like this." He could fly a proper airplane, but this was an entirely different kettle of fish.
