Kurt's words were very foreign, but there was logic to it. Squall could appreciate that much. He even took the book and scanned through the petitions that had a certain oxymoronic feel to them based on Squall's world. And yet, the phrase it is in giving that we receive struck a cord all the same. It wasn't when he closed himself off that he felt alive. It was in sacrifice, in helping others, in opening himself up to getting hurt and caring.

He closed the book so that he wouldn't get too caught up in the prayer on his own thoughts. There was no reason to disturb Kurt overly much.

"So your God tried to save you?" Interesting. He handed the book back to Kurt. "You can keep praying aloud. It won't bother me."
