Part of him was so certain this was some kind of hour thirty six hallucination (back home he didn't get those until hour fifty or so but forge work was more labor intensive, he'd been learning to adjust accordingly.), enough that he sat and waited until the last little crash, the fumbling attempts to clean up before he pushed himself out of the doorway and knelt to help clean up. Hallucinatory Banner tended to be more stern and fondly exasperated, less human garbage fire.
Reasons they got along so well, being mutual messes. Genius didn't always lend itself to straightforward thinking and structure outside of the lab- at least in Tony's case.
