He hasn't exactly been the best about adjusting to this situation either. After all, she's supposed to be some big government secret, some horrible consequence of something he doesn't even really get at all beyond the simple fact that if he tells the truth he's going to probably lose everything and then some.

So to find out she's here and alive is, frankly, the most awkward thing in the entire world, thank you very much.

Nancy would know how to deal with this shit. But Steve Harrington does not and so he's dealt with it in the worst way possible: by avoiding it completely until he's too screwed up by skunk juice to realize what he's even doing.
