Cougar has never flinched against anything and he doesn't start now against Jake, waiting until the man is inches from him, coming at him, and only then does he flick his eyebrows up just a little like he isn't impressed at all. He smirks, even, and raises both hands between them, as if to say 'these hands?'

He's not wanting to get beat down, but he's also a little too stubborn to give up without at least a bit of a taunt. "You're sure?" he asks, when Jake seems convinced that Cougar is going to end up mauled if they keep going.
