"Sadly, yeah salt. It's some native thing that they leave laying around for anyone," she says, obviously not happy and not hiding that from the bitterness in her tones.

"Look. I'm going to leave you here, go see if there's any of those tubers in the fridge, or anything like that. Something that will help your system, okay? That means you staying here, okay?"

Not that she thinks he's going to bolt but given how that shit can feel, she isn't swearing to it. Times like this she really wished her mom was there. She knew how to help people. Ashley just knew how to break things so she got what they wanted. Things including people but, eh, so be it.
