[ That's the rub about this place, isn't it? Matt hasn't exactly told anyone about it, not Claire or Karen---but he's not exactly at his best. He can't hear Foggy's heartbeat, or the way he takes a breath before holding it when there's something he wants to say but won't. At this distance especially, he can't even hear the rustle of the other man's clothing to indicate gestures.

He sounds like he's smiling, though. He knows what Foggy sounds like when he's happy and he can hear it in his voice. He can't imagine why he's happy to see him, but he is and---Matt isn't sure what he's feeling.

The rest of him must not be either, cause he doesn't remember when his feet started moving, cane sweeping out in front of him, and stopping when it taps into a rock, catching the last part of what his best friend (are they still that?) says. ]

Yeah, right. I'm pretty sure the whole forest could hear you. If you're not careful, you'll end up with a bunch of woodland creatures skulking around instead.

[ It's easier to just go with it, right? How's he supposed to explain that the blind-but-not-quite-blind is down to actually blind? Not that he wasn't always actually it's just---he sighs inwardly, the smile that had attempted to show faltering. ]
